KENNEDYVILLE, MD - Lydia Stoltzfus passed away peacefully, Friday, Nov. 4, 2011 surrounded by her family after suffering a stroke a few days prior. Born on Nov. 8, 1926, in Morgantown, Pa., Caernarvon Twp., Berks County, she was the daughter of the late Stephen R. and Lydia Petersheim Stoltzfus and the wife of Amos Z. Stoltzfus with whom she celebrated nearly 65 years of marriage. Lydia was a member of Harmony Mennonite Church. She will be remembered for her strong faith and as a homemaker who found real fulfillment in meeting the needs of her family as well as reaching out to friends in the community. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters; Mary, wife of David Kauffman, Bird-in-Hand, Pa., Anne, wife of Ray Yoder, Free Union, Va., and Barbara, wife of Nelson Schrock of Kennedyville, Md.; three sons, Steve, husband of Mary Etta Miller, John, husband of Ruth Byler, both of Kennedyville, Md., and Ivan, husband of Darla Miller, Leon, Iowa; 29 grandchildren; and 55 great-grandchildren; a sister, Naomi Stoltzfus, Dundee, Ohio; and a brother, Steve, of Peru, South America. She was preceded in death by a son, David; a grandson; and sisters, Rebecca Fisher and Barbara Glick; and brothers, John, Christian, Urie, Ammon and Jonas. Funeral Services will be held at Harmony Mennonite Church, 108 Legion Road, Millington, MD 21651, on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with interment in the adjoining cemetery.
