Buckland, 82
DOVER, DE - Linda McComas Buckland passed away peacefully Thursday, July 7, 2022 in her home with her husband by her side.
Born April 29, 1940 in Bluefield, WV. Linda was one of two daughters to Elsworth (Bus) & Gladys Wagner McComas. She was raised in Peterstown, WV, where she met her future husband Donald Buckland. After Graduating from Peterstown High School, she attended Concord College in Athens WV, where she received her associate degree in business. She started her professional career as a school secretary at Narrows High School in Narrows, VA. Don's career brought them to Dover, Delaware in 1965, where she became executive secretary to the vice president of the Eastern Shore Natural Gas Company. Linda found her passion for real estate in 1973, where she was the first female realtor for Lore Ellis Realty (now Burns and Ellis Realty). In 1980, she opened her first realty office, Hufnal Buckland Realty with her partner, Bill Hufnal. In 1992 Linda was elected President of the Kent County Association of Realtors and was selected Kent County Realtor of the year. She was a million dollar producer continuously for over 30 years. Linda was a hard worker and a great supporter to the realtors association.
Throughout her life she enjoyed painting, playing bridge with her friends, and traveling with Don. Their travels brought them to countless places in the United States and foreign countries, most notably: Alaska, Greece, Egypt, China, Italy, England, Mexico and Caribbean Islands. She loved music, in particular country music, and went to Dover Downs to see a number of country shows. She also loved spending time with her family at their beach home in Pots Nets and locally at Maple Dale and Wild Quail Country Clubs, where they were members at various times.
She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Buckland after 63 years of married life. Her son, Gary Buckland (Niki); her daughter, Gwen Clark (Donald); her five grandchildren, Ryan Buckland (Jackie), Lindsay Lucas (Zak), Eric Buckland (Scottie), Paige Clark, Mitchell Clark; and three great grandchildren, Ian Buckland, Zachery Lucas Jr., and Kaia Buckland. She loved her family and supported them all. She was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Maxey (Alvin).
