GREENWOOD - Lester V. Swift, of Greenwood, died Monday, April 9, 2012 at his home. He was 81. Lester was born Sept. 29, 1930, to the late John E. and Lillian Gray Swift. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Harrington. After retiring from being a mason, Lester grew produce. You would see him often selling his produce on the north bound side of route 13 near his home. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Winona in 2004; two sisters, Dorothy and Beatrice; and two brothers, Frank and Francis. He is survived by a daughter, Carol Piekarek and husband Gary of Greenwood; a foster son, Lester R. Smith and his wife Ruthella of Greenwood; and a brother, Dean Swift. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2012, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 57 Clark St., Harrington, DE 19952. Friends may call Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m., at the church. Interment will be held at St. Johnstown Cemetery, Greenwood. Arrangements by Fleischauer Funeral Home, Greenwood.
