GOLDSBORO, Md. - Leon C. Hansen of Goldsboro passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at his residence, surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was 82.

Born in Oxford, Pa., on April 19, 1925, he was the son of the late Harold H. and Carrie (Stallings) Hansen.

Leon, along with his wife, operated a mushroom farm in Pennsylvania and later moved to Delaware, where he opened a retail store, L&D Auto Supply. Together they owned and operated it for more than 30 years.

He loved meeting and working with the customers of his business and made many of his lifetime friends there.

Leon enjoyed playing the accordion and spending time walking, hiking and working outdoors. He especially enjoyed fishing and boating in the open sea.

He was a devoted husband and father for more than 60 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Marion Hansen and James Hansen; and a sister, Marie Hansen.

Leon is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy (Bryan) Hansen; his children, James, Jeff, Kathy, Bruce and David; his grandchildren, Alec, Wilson, Stephanie, Erica, Derek, Kristin, Haley, David and Brandon; and his two sisters, Ruby of Connecticut and Georgia of Baltimore.
