Lawrence 'Larry' MacDonald, 57
FOXBORO, Mass. - Lawrence "Larry" MacDonald of Foxboro died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, in Pinehurst, N.C., of accidental causes. He was 57.
Mr. MacDonald was born July 20, 1950, in Whitney Pier, Nova Scotia, Canada, son of Greg and Elizabeth MacDonald of Smyrna, Del.
He and his family moved to East Meadow, N.Y. when he was 13.
Mr. MacDonald was a 1968 graduate of East Meadow High School.
After graduating he moved to Foxboro where he began a lifelong career in harness racing. Throughout his career, he worked as a trainer and driver in Massachusetts, New Jersey and Delaware.
Mr. MacDonald had a tremendous love of horses and the harness racing industry.
He is survived by his daughter and a son-in-law, Judy and Brian Magie of Chesterfield, N.J.; a grandchild due to arrive this week; a son and a daughter-in-law, Brad and Erin MacDonald of North Attleboro, Mass.; two granddaughters, Molly and Meghan; five sisters, Karen MacDonald, Judy MacDonald, Pauline MacDonald, Patricia MacDonald and Colleen McGuire; two brothers, Joe MacDonald and John MacDonald; and nieces nephews, other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday in 49 Jacobstown Arneytown Road, Wrightstown, N.J. Pastor Ed Hlad will officiate.
