Larry Jay Donovan, 64

MILFORD - Larry Jay Donovan of Milford died Friday, April 27, 2007 in his home. He was 64.

Mr. Donovan was born in Milford, the son of the late Jay P. and Helen "Fox" Donovan.

Mr. Donovan worked at Mil-Del Corp. for 38 years before becoming disabled.

He was a member of the U.S. Chess Federation and loved barbecues and family gatherings. He enjoyed people in general and always had a kind word for everyone.

He is survived by siblings, Linda Thawley and her companion, Julius Steiner of Lincoln, Leslie Donovan and his wife, Debbie of Milford, and Lana Evans and her husband, Jim of Milford; two special aunts, Mable Walters of Milford and Helen Jester of Laurel; nieces and nephews, Jamie Rhawley, Leslie Donovan Jr., Dustin Scarborough, Mathew Evans and Alana Evans.

Services will be 1 p.m. on Monday at Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford. Friends may call after noon.

Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery.

Instead of flowers the family suggests contributions in memory of Larry Donovan to the American Diabetes Association at 100 W. 10th St., Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE 19801.
