Kenneth Eugene Deimler, 70

DOVER - Kenneth Eugene Deimler, of Dover, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at home. He was 70. Mr. Deimler was born Aug. 16, 1938, in Annville, Pa., to Martha Deimler and the late Herman Pete Deimler. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1966. Mr. Deimler previously owned and operated My Place Tavern in Dover since 1983. Prior to the tavern he had worked as a machinist mechanic for 18 years for General Foods. He also worked for Mr. Piotts Service Station on Governors and North Street. Mr. Deimler started entertaining Jazz musicians introducing local artists in his tavern. He enjoyed watching cooking shows and loved to cook. Mr. Deimler was an avid Philly's and Eagles fan. He loved people and never met a stranger. Mr. Deimler was preceded in death by his father; and his sister, Carol Williams. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Martha Deimler and John Vanada of Annville, Pa.; his wife, Carole Ann Pippin Deimler of Dover; his son, Jeffrey Deimler of Manheim, Pa.; stepson, Sean Pleasanton and his wife Karin of Camden; his brother, James Deimler of Lebanon, Pa.; grandchildren, Nicole Deimler, Oliva and Miles Pleasanton; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Deimler is also survived by his best friend, his dog, Lil Oscar. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 22, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10), Dover.
