Kathryn L. Barnes, 83

Kathryn L. Barnes, formerly of Marcus Hook, where she resided for more than 50 years, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2007, in Naamans Creek Manor, Boothwyn. She was 83.

Kathryn was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rosa (Smith) Jester.

She loved listening to southern gospel music and going to church.

Kathryn especially enjoyed gatherings with her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Barnes, in 1992. The last survivor of her generation, she was also predeceased by several sisters and brothers.

Kathryn will be dearly missed by her devoted nieces and nephews who reside in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Florida, California and New Jersey.

Funeral services will be 10:45 a.m. Saturday in the Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, where friends may view one hour earlier. Pastor Dr. Michael L. Peper of the First Baptist Church of Aston will officiate. Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Missionary Fund (Sierra Leone Project), First Baptist Church of Aston, 4150 Market St., Aston, PA 19014, in memory of Mrs. Kathryn L. Barnes.
