DOVER - June Marie Penrod, age 83, passed away at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, on Friday, December 6, 2013. June was originally from the Colwyn, Pennsylvania area and moved to Delaware in 1964 with her family. She had many interests, from cooking and baking, to reading and traveling. She was especially interested in American history and would study about the development of the Westward Movement extensively. Her daughter, Sandra Penrod Wootten and son-in-law, Dennis F. Wootten, survive her. Her beloved granddaughter, April Murphy Miller and husband, Jason Miller also survive her. The apple of her eye was her great-granddaughter, Aeron Miller, age 4. The family would like to extend an invitation to June's memorial service, which will be held on Monday, January 20th, 2014. A Mass will be held at Holy Cross Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover, DE at 10 a.m., followed by a Life Celebration Luncheon at Fraizer's Restaurant, 9 E. Loockerman Street, Dover, in the Mirror Lake Room. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting donations to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963. Life's End Services are by Michael J. Ambruso Funeral Director, Inc.
