June (Harbin) Loden, 78

MARIETTA, Ga. - June (Harbin) Loden of Marietta passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, in Harbor Health Center, Lewes, Del. She was 78.

June was born June 4, 1929, in Marietta, daughter of the late Anna Bell (Young) and Tyre Benjamin Harbin.

She worked for 35 years with Lockheed-Martin Corp., Marietta.

After retirement, June enjoyed life as a homemaker.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, movies and dining out. Her greatest joy was family and her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Clarence Loden; and a daughter, Lycia Thomas.

She is survived by a daughter, Gerri Austin of Felton; a son, Scott Loden Sr. of Marietta; seven grandchildren, James Thomas Jr., Shane Austin, Joshua Austin, Brandi Loden, Scott Loden Jr., Alex Loden and Samantha Loden; six great-grandchildren; a cousin, Katherine Thomas of Marietta; and her nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the West Cobb Funeral Home, 2480 Macland Road, Marietta, where friends may call two hours earlier.

Officiating the ceremony will be Senior Minister Dr. Jack L. Snellgrove of Johns Creek Christian Church.

Burial will follow in Mountain View Park Cemetery, Marietta.

Local arrangements are by Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming, Del.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to a hospice of choice.
