Hackney, 62 DOVER - June Elizabeth Hackney died Wednesday, August, 8, 2012, at home. Mrs. Hackney was born June 20, 1950, in Wilmington, Del. to the late Millard F. Davis and Theresa Rossi Davis. She worked at the memorial hospital for ten years and then in retail sales until she became a stay at home grandmom. June enjoyed gardening, reading, going to the beach and traveling with her family, but she mostly enjoyed being with her children, five grandchildren and her puppy, Maggie as often as possible. We are so grateful to have June in our lives. Her deadpan humor, no nonsense view of life, and amazingly open heart will fill our thoughts as we lovingly look back on her life with us. Mrs. Hackney is survived by her husband of 42 years, James 'Bub' Hackney of Dover; daughter, Shannon Hackney Dove and her husband Johnie of Dover; son, Chris Hackney and his wife Angelica of Dover; brother, Joseph Davis of Glasgow, Del.; sister, Mary Jane Vilone and her husband Fran Bailey of Middletown, Del.; grandchildren, Kyle and Kameron Hackney and Mackenzie Dove, and Isela and Christopher Hackney. Memorial services will be held at noon Saturday August 11, 2012, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Letters of condolence may be sent and the guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
