Julia Etta Teat

DOVER - Julia (Judy) Etta Teat, formerly of Millington, Md., died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at Courtland Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dover. She was 75 the day before her death. Judy was born Oct. 11, 1941 in Barclay, Md., the daughter of the late James Earle Teat, Sr., and Rhoada Pauline Ringgold Teat. She was a graduate of Sudlersville High School and furthered her education at Goldey-Beacom College where she studied in the secretarial program. She was a member of Crumpton United Methodist Church where she enjoyed playing the organ for services, and in her youth she would stay with her grandmother after Sunday school. Judy was a quiet and reserved lady who also enjoyed art and drawing, playing the guitar, singing, going to movies and theatre with her mother and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Franklin Teat and James Earle Teat, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Anna Mae Starkey (Jim), of Dover; her sister-in-law, Nancy Teat, of Millingon, Md.; three nieces, Ruby Lee Schaffer, of Dover, Karen Miller, of Camden, Joyce Prickett, of Chestertown, Md.; and five nephews, Wayne Starkey, of Milford, Gary Starkey, of Dover, Gene Teat, of Chestertown, Md., Dean Teat, of Milford, and Dale Teat, of Dover. Services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. with visitation at 10 a.m. at Fellows Family Funeral Home, 370 Cypress St. Millington, Md. Interment will follow the service in Crumpton Cemetery, Crumpton, Md. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to the Crumpton United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 343, Crumpton, MD 21628.
