HARRINGTON - Joyce A. Shockley passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 15, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Joyce was born in Lincoln, the daughter of the late John E. and Mary E. (Legates) Porter of Harrington. Joyce graduated from Harrington High School in 1957. She was a supervisor at Aetna Shirt Company and worked in food service with the Lake Forest School District from which she retired in 2002. Joyce's passions were watching her grandsons and great grandchildren play sports, quilting, crafting, cooking and camping with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister Julia Quillen; her youngest brother John E. Porter, Jr; sister-in-law Darlene Porter and son-in-law Don Kvedrowicz. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, William T. Shockley; her daughter, Crystal Yerkes and husband Stoney; her daughter, Karen Shockley; grandson, Brandon Yerkes and wife Tara; grandson, Matt Revelle and wife Amber; three great-grandchildren, Logan, Chloe and Cohen; her sister, Doris Greenlee, of FL; her brother, Norman (Jack) Porter and his wife Helen of Harrington; brother, Jimmy Porter of Milton; and brother-in-law, Jimmie Quillen of Milford. A viewing will be held on Sunday, June 21 from 6 to 8 pm and again from 10 - 11 am on Monday, June 22 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where funeral services will be held at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Milford - Harrington Highway, Harrington. Flowers will be accepted but if you wish to make contributions the family requests they be made to either the Prospect United Methodist Church, 5183 Vernon Road, Harrington, DE 19952 or to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
