Josephine (Wilson) Hawes, 96
GEORGETOWN - Josephine (Wilson) Hawes, a lifelong resident of Georgetown, passed away Monday, April 16, 2007, in Green Valley Terrace, Millsboro. She was 96.
Josephine was born in Georgetown, daughter of the late Charles W. and Annie (Hitchens) Wilson.
She was a homemaker and had been an active member of Milton Wesleyan Church.
In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Valentine B. Hawes, in 1998.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, and Catherine (Noto) Scrivener, to whom, at a young age, she opened her home.
A funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call after 10 a.m.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown.
Contributions in Mrs. Hawes memory may be made to the Milton Wesleyan Church, 411 Union St., Milton, DE 19968; or Delaware Hospice, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
