Joseph White, 50 DOVER - Joseph White, of Dover, passed away Monday, July 26, 2010, at Bay Health Kent General Hospital. He was 50. Joe was a member of Prospect AME Church in Georgetown. He served on the trustee board at Prospect AME Church. Joe was in the process of transferring his church membership to Saint James Union AME Church in Frederica, where the Reverend James Hill, Jr., is the pastor. Joe was born on Oct. 8, 1959, in South Carolina to the late Blease and Essie Mae White, Sr., of Lane, S.C. Joe graduated from Milford High School in Milford, in 1978. Immediately after graduating from high school, Joe matriculated at Salisbury State University in Salisbury, Md., as a Computer Science major. He later attended both Wilmington College (University) and Delaware State University in Dover, where he majored in Business Management. Joe received specialized training from Delaware Technical and Community College (DTCC) in Dover. While attending DTCC, Joe received specialized training from Demrack Association where he became certified in the following areas: Auto Body Repair, Auto Mechanical Repair, and Auto Motor Repair. For the past ten years, Joe owned and operated Motion Inc., an auto body repair shop in Dover. He had a true passion for the automobile industry and took much pride in his work. Joe was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching sporting events on television. For many years, he was a diehard Dallas Cowboys' fan. During football season, he often enjoyed predicting the outcome of any game in which teams were competing against the Cowboys. Joe also took pleasure in cooking and often prepared meals for his family. Joe will be remembered for being quiet and easy going as well as being compassionate towards others. He was preceded in death by his parents, Blease and Essie Mae White Sr.; and a sister, Patricia A. Saini. He leaves to cherish his memories six brothers, Herbert Lee (Medra) Shaw of Decatur, Ga., Raymond (Sherry) White of Ellendale, Herbert (Cindy) White of Camden, Kenneth R. White of Dover, Solomon (Marilyn) White of Fenwick Island, and Blease R. White, Jr., of Henderson, N.C.; four sisters, Theadora Morris of Dover, Thelma R. (Philip) Dixon of Felton, Velma R. (Roger) Cain of Camden, and Falishia R. (Keith) Callwood of Dover. He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. There will be a viewing on Friday, July 30, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover. Funeral Service will be at 12 p.m., Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Philadelphia Pentecostal Holiness Church, 13724 South Old State Road, Ellendale, where friends may call two hours prior to the funeral. The final viewing will be held prior to the funeral service from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Zion AME Church Cemetery, Ellendale. Arrangements are being handled by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
