Joseph T. Pickering

DELAWARE - Joseph T. Pickering passed away, Friday, Feb. 26, 2016 at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Mr. Pickering was born Nov. 5, 1944 in Nanticoke, Pa. to the late Thomas Pickering and Mary Piech Pickering. He served in the United States Air Force. After the military he worked as an electrical technician for a building contractor. He was then employed by FEMA as a disaster specialist out of the Philadelphia, Pa. office. He enjoyed model trains and boating on the Chesapeake. Mr. Pickering is survived by his wife of 13 years, Patricia K. Walsh Pickering; his children, Joseph Pickering and wife, Sue of Newark, Del., Jeffrey Pickering and wife, Sherry of Anthem, Ariz., Wendy Bedrosian and husband Edward of Wellesley, Ma, Jacqueline Resavy and her husband Keith, James Soroka and his wife Mary Beth all of Duryea, Pa., Mary Pat Dalton and her husband Robert of Swoyersville, Pa. and Steven Soroka and his companion Cay Tokach, Pittston, Pa.; sister, Jaqueline Dzurek and her husband John of Swoyersville, Pa.; twenty one grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by Lily, Napoleon, Angelika and Lorena his pets that he loved so much. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to SPCA Camden, Del.
