Joseph Martin Allaband Jr., 74 DOVER - Joseph Martin Allaband Jr., of Dover, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009. He was 74. He was born May 20, 1935, in Kennett Square, Pa., to the late Joseph M. Allaband Sr. and Julie Oakes Allaband. Mr. Allaband served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He worked for the State of Delaware Highway Department as a welder for 25 years. Mr. Allaband enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren and family. He was a member of American Legion Walter L. Fox Post # 2. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lorraine Vanderhoof Allaband of Dover; three sons, Joseph M. Allaband and his wife Teresa of Dover, Kris S. Allaband and his wife Christine of Magnolia, and Travis C. Allaband and his wife Melissa of Camden; three daughters, Deborah Neidig and her husband Bruce of Hartly, Donna Allaband of Marydel, and Robyn Moore and her husband Mike of Dover; three brothers, Lester, Brian, and Kenny Allaband; five sisters, Janice Bradley, Elaine Bradley, Sylvia LaRochelle, Cynthia, and Linda Allaband; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 20, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
