Jose Salas, 62
DOVER - Jose Salas of Dover died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, in his home. He was 62.
He was born on March 24, 1944, in Agat, Guam.
He lived in San Diego before moving to Dover in 1987.
Mr. Salas served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was employed as a housing inspector for the U.S. government for more than 20 years in San Diego before retiring. After retiring, he worked as an inspector for the U.S. Customs Service for eight years.
He loved antique cars, and was a professional pool player.
Mr. Salas was a member of the Modern Maturity Center, Dover, and was very active in the catholic community.
He was preceded in death by his parents Juan and Delfina Cruz; his brother, George Cruz; his sisters, Maria Castro and Beatrice Kind.
He is survived by his sisters, Teresita Curry of Upper Marlboro, Md.; Rosita Castro, of California; Rosalina Shears, of Tucson, Ariz., Rosalia Charfauros and Isabel Cruz, both in Guam.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
