DOVER - John W. Wilber passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 with his wife by his side, in his home. John was born on Dec. 10, 1938 in Cobleskill, N.Y., son of the late George and Elnora (Peters) Wilber. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy. John had worked as a farmer, enjoyed building and racing cars. He also was a driver for the Amish Community. He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Uhlmann; daughter, Kelly Merider; two sons, Eric Wilber and his wife Katie, and Kurt Wilber and his wife Valerie; step-children, Nathan Uhlmann and his wife Heather; Tamarah Glanding, and Aaron Uhlmann and his wife Jennifer; a sister, Mary Messick; and 15 grandchildren. Service will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Burial be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Compassionate Care Hospice, 28467 DuPont Blvd., Unit 6, Suite 6, Millsboro, DE 19966.
