John W. Meagher, 59 DOVER - John W. Meagher, of Dover, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008, at home. He was 59. John was born March 30, 1949, in Jersey City, N.J., to Ann Fehr of Toms River, N.J., and the late Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient, John Meagher who is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. John worked as a computer project manager for Munich American Reinsurance in New York for 20 years retiring in 1998. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. Reserves from May 1967 until his Honorable discharge in 1973. John was a member of the Saltwater Fly Anglers of Delaware. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 17 years, Teryl Ann Meagher of Dover; daughter, Jennifer Ann Meagher of New York; his sisters, Lois Hiraiwa and her husband Gary of California, Ellen Teresi and her husband Joseph of Florida; a special niece, Beverly Barragan and her husband Steve of California; and 16 additional nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind beloved dogs who he loved to have with him all the time, Gizmo and Mac. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901. Local arrangements by Torbert Funeral Chapels, Dover.
