CLAYTON - John "Butch" Robert Walton passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, May 6, 2018.
Mr. Walton was born on Oct. 3, 1942 in Dover, the son of the late John and Mary (Daniels) Walton.
He grew up on a farm in Clayton and had many different jobs in the course of his life.
Butch loved Hank Williams, Jr., John Wayne, George Jones, and Gunsmoke. He was also an avid fisherman and loved fishing with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Raymond Brown.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Audrey; his four children, Kevin (Amy) Walton, Karen (Dave) Kirlin, Keith "Buck" (Jenni) Walton, and Kregg Walton; six grandchildren, Michael North, Keith (Katelyn) Walton, Jr., Kevin Robert Walton, Jr., Kendyl Walton, Hunter Walton, and Kregg Walton, II; three great grandsons, Kaiden and Kyle North, and Kolby Walton. He is also survived by his brother, Eddie (Arlene) Walton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 South Main Street in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Townsend Cemetery.
