GEORGETOWN - John P. Bargelski passed away on Friday, Feb. 7, 2014 at the Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. He was born in Wilmington. He was a WWII veteran, retired after 30 years from General Motors. "Big John" was a member of the Elks Lodge, Rock Manor Golf course, VFW, Defiance and the American Legion. He was a loving husband and father, passionate golfer and sports fan and he loved his cats. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Waltraud Bargelski; two daughters and their husbands; one granddaughter; one great grandson and a step son. He will rest at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro. At the request of the family, the services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Georgetown SPCA, 22918 Dupont Hwy, Georgetown, DE. 19947. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.melsonfuneralservices.com.
