LAUREL - John M. Gallagher passed away peacefully on Dec. 29, 2019 surrounded by his family. Born in Seaford, he was the son of the late James M. Gallagher and Julia Brian Gallagher Records Price. He would have turned 57 on New Years Eve. Besides his mom, he is survived by a son, James Michael Gallagher; two sisters, Cathy Gallagher Mitchell, his faithful caregiver, and Frances Bishop (Harley Harris); and two brothers, James Martin Gallagher of Oak Orchard and Phillip Gallagher (Kelly) of Seaford; and a faithful step sister, Paula Records Sheets, of Delmar; and his companion, Jenny Layton. Besides his father he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Michaela and Teresa Gallagher; and his brother, Michael Brian Gallagher. Funeral service will be held at the Veterans Cemetery in Millsboro at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019. Mr Harvery Conard will officiate. After the service, everyone is invited back to the Laurel Wesleyan Church for a fellowship and lunch. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Southern Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriot Way, Milford, DE 19963 or to Laurel Wesleyan Church, 30186 Seaford Rd., Laurel, DE 19956. Funeral arrangements are handled by the Bennie Smith funeral home.
