John F. Greene, 57
DOVER - John Fitzgerald Greene passed away on July 27, 2021 at Kent General Hospital in Dover, Del. from complications of Muscular Dystrophy.
He was born in Felton, Del. to the late Philip and Doris Greene. John was a 1982 graduate of Lake Forest High School, and a past member of Felton United Methodist Church, where for many years he served as the pitcher for the church's softball team.
Until his health failed him, John worked predominantly in the food service industry, but he also spent time in drywall construction with his father and brother. His main interests included fishing, telling stories, Carolina Panthers football and spending time with friends and most importantly his son.
He is survived by his son, Danny Greene of Frederica; two sisters, Linda Miller and husband, Rusty, of Greenwood and Pam Hobbs and her husband Eric of Viola; his brother, David Greene and wife, Heidi, of Dover; aunt and uncle, Joe and JoAnn Greene of Springfield, Mo.; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; his former wife, Kathy Joseph of Frederica; and an extended family of friends.
A public graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. A time of food, fellowship and remembrance will follow at Manship Chapel, 4912 Burnite Mill Road, Felton beginning at 12 p.m.
John's family wishes to thank the staff of Silver Lake Center in Dover for the care and compassion they showed him during the last year of his life.
Arrangements are by Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., Camden, Del. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com
