Joe Mack Naff

MAGNOLIA - Joe Mack Naff passed away Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018 at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford.
Mr. Naff was born Dec. 16, 1931 in Bastrop, La. to the late Joseph Naff and Jewel Welch Naff.
He served in the United States Army for three years with the Fourth Army Band. Mr. Naff had a Master's Degree in Music and taught for 31 years at several public schools including Brandywine public school district. After retirement he continued to teach private lessons for another 27 years up until two weeks ago. He started and conducted The Diamond State Concert Band for 20 years. In 1963 he played Carnegie Hall in New York.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by daughter, Gina Naff; and brother, Edward Naff.
He is survived by his daughter, Joanna Maggs and her husband Kevin of West Chester, Pa.; brother, Tom Naff and his wife Sue of Pleasanton, Calif.; sister, Molly Thorn of Monroe, La.; sister-in-law, Charlotte Naff; granddaughter, Jennifer Maggs of West Chester, Pa.; and many beloved students and their families.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to www.gofundme.com/joe-naff-music-scholarship to benefit music students in Kent County, Delaware.
