MILFORD - Joan M. Mitchell, of Milford, passed away on May 27, 2011 at home. She was 62. Joan was born in Milford the daughter of the late Dale and Jake Mitchell. She had worked at Perdue in Milford, retiring in 2007. She was a member of the Milford Senior Center. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles, knitting and watching television. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Vincent; niece, Donna Fisher; and her step-mother, Irene Mitchell. She is survived by her sister, Diane Stayton of Millsboro; step-brother, Jack Finnefrock of Milford; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 5 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford. Burial will be private.
