MILFORD - Joan K. Morgan passed peacefully into her Savior's arms on Good Friday, April 3, 2015. Joan was born on April 29, 1940, in Milford. Her parents were the late Frank L. Reed, Sr. and Marguerite Reed. She was also predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Frank L. Reed, Jr. and Patricia Reed; a brother-in-law, Howard Kirsch; a loving daughter-in-law, Lisa Ritter Morgan; and her precious granddaughter, Hannah M. Davies. She is survived by her wonderful husband, Woodrow W. Morgan; oldest son, Bruce W. Morgan; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Greg Davies; son and daughter-in-law, Gary B. and Susan Morgan; and grandchildren Kellie, Alissa, and Carlee Morgan, Jeremy Morgan, and Trevor Davies. She is also survived by her sister, Charlotte Kirsch of Lewes; her sister-in-law and best friend, Joyce Jopp, and her husband Darryl, of Milford; and many special nieces and nephews. Joan and her husband, Woody, were married for 57 years and worked together tirelessly to build a greenhouse business, Greenview Gardens, in Lincoln. After 22 years, they were fortunate enough to retire and begin spending their winters in Ft. Myers, Fla. at their condo in Cinnamon Cove, where Joan was very involved in community activities, as both a leader and volunteer. She loved bicycling, golfing, and especially the sunshine and warmth. Joan regularly attended Milford Church of the Nazarene, and while in Florida, attended First Church of the Nazarene of Ft. Myers. At home in Delaware, she was a devoted cheerleader at her grandchildren's sporting events. She would travel to Honeybrook, Pa., to cheer on her grandson Jeremy as he raced quarter midgets for 7 years. She shouted support to granddaughters Alissa and Carlee when they played soccer, and never missed a chance to attend grandson Trevor and her late granddaughter Hannah's games of soccer, football, basketball, and lacrosse. Her small stature was in stark contrast to the loud cheers she produced. She was an avid lover of animals and nature, and a longtime supporter of the Humane Society. The beauty of flowers drew her to a love of gardening. Of all these things, her love for, devotion to, and support of her family will be the greatest memory her family will treasure. The viewing will be 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Berry-Short Funeral Home 119 NW Front St. in Milford, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. All are invited to attend. Flowers are welcome as well as donations to Milford Church of the Nazarene, 11 N. Salevan Place, Milford.
