Joan Elizabeth 'Joanie' Lacy, 42
GALESTOWN, Md. - Joan Elizabeth "Joanie" Lacy of Galestown passed away Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, in Coastal Hospice at the Lake, Salisbury. She was 42.
Mrs. Lacy was born Dec. 9, 1963, in Washington, D.C., daughter of Francis "Franny" (Kernan) Barnhard and the late John W. Barnhard Sr.
She was a graduate of Richard Montgomery High School.
She worked for 18 years as a bus driver for the Montgomery County School System.
Mrs. Lacy was a motorcycle enthusiast, enjoyed fishing and loved all animals, especially horses.
She is survived by her mother, Francis Barnhard of Frankford; her husband, Ronnie Lee Lacy Sr. of Laurel; two sons, Brandon Clay Begley of King George, Va., and John Payton Lacy III of Galestown; two stepchildren, John Wilson Lacy and Amber Lee Bradley, both of Nashville, Tenn.; two brothers, John W. "Jay" Barnhard Jr. of Frankford and Timothy H. "Tim" Barnhard of Elkridge; a sister, Patricia Ann "Patti" Feldman of Clearwater, Fla.; two devoted friends, Phillip James Brock Sr. of Galestown and Adina H. Barnett of Rhodesdale; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Framptom Funeral Home, Federalsburg, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Delmer Willey will officiate.
Burial will follow in Brookview Cemetery.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Brookview United Methodist Church, c/o Clark Simms, 5474 Indiantown Road, Rhodesdale, MD 21659; or to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
