REHOBOTH BEACH - Joan E. Rieck, of Rehoboth Beach, and Fort Pierce, Fla., died on Jan. 6, 2012, peacefully at home with her family. She was 78. She was born in Bronx, N.Y., on June 6, 1933, daughter of the late Charles and Eleanor Sharratt. She married August W. Rieck in 1954. She was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Savior and Trinity Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, August W. Rieck. She is survived by son, David Rieck and wife Eva Marie of Troy, Ohio, and their children, Aaron and Catherine; daughter, Susan R. Minner and husband Paul of Dover, and their son Howell; and son, Timothy Rieck of Fort Pierce, Fla. Memorial service will be 12:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 13, at Lutheran Church of Our Savior. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963; or Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 7 Bay Vista Rd, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
