Jimmy Lee Spence, 52

BERLIN, Md. - Jimmy Lee Spence died Sunday, July 15, 2007, in his Harrison Road home in Berlin. He was 52.

Born in Newark, Md., he was the son of the late Herbert and Ethel Spence.

He was a 1973 graduate of Snow Hill High School.

Mr. Spence was the assistant superintendent of groundskeeping and irrigation for the Ocean City Golf and Yacht Club in Assateague.

He was also formerly employed with Perdue Farms, Mountaire Farms and Showell Poultry.

Mr. Spence was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters, Edward, Charles, Hurley, Raymond and Linwood Spence, Shirley Johnson and Virginia Spence.

He is survived by two brothers and two sisters, Johnny and his wife, Wanda Spence and Mildred Spence, all of Salisbury, Hilton and his wife, Regena Spence of Frankford and Janette White of Millsboro; adopted brother and sister, Wayne and Sheila Young of Berlin; special friends, James and Ozella Williams of Berlin; and a companion, Louise (Sis) Funk of Berlin; and Jonathon Stevenson, whom he reared as a son; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Calvary United Methodist Church in Berlin, where friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to service.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Services are entrusted to Jolley Memorial Chapel, P.A. in Salisbury.
