BRIDGEVILLE - Jesse R. Williams Sr., of Bridgeville passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Jesse was born Nov. 8, 1939 in Sanford, Va. to the late Granville and Nellie Carpenter Williams. He worked for CW Wright and EMT Construction as a lineman until he retired in 1999. Jesse enjoyed going on cruises and spending time with his wife in Florida. After he retired they spent the winters in Florida until 2010 and then moved there full time. In 2015 Jesse and his wife moved back to Delaware to be closer to his family. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Granville Williams Jr. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Records Williams; a son, Jesse R. Williams Jr and his wife Mary of Laurel; a daughter, Denise Miller and her husband Richard of Harrington; three grandchildren, Joseph Williams of Ellendale, Spencer Williams of Greenwood, and Dustin Miller of Harrington; a step-grandson, Christopher Yocca from Laurel; two great granddaughters, Ashley and Katelyn Williams of Ellendale; a step-granddaughter, Courtney Vickers and husband Andrew from Delmar; three great-grandsons, Jackson, Ryland, and Bowen Vickers all from Delmar; a brother, Jerry Williams of Stanardsville, Va.; and many nieces and nephews Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 18, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Johnstown Cemetery outside of Greenwood. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to the Bridgeville Fire Company, Bridgeville Police Dept, or to Sussex County EMS. Arrangements are handled by Fleischauer Funeral Home, Greenwood.
