Jerry B. Mills

DOVER - Jerry B. Mills passed away on May 4, 2017.
Mr. Mills had worked as a career advisor and worked in security forces for the United States Air Force, retiring after 21 years of service. Afterwards, he had worked in the Commissary at the Dover Air Force Base for about 20 years. Mr. Mills enjoyed metal detecting and was a Civil War memorabilia enthusiast. He loved birds and was an author of true ghost story books.
Mr. Mills was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brittney Mills; by his brother, Joseph; and by his sister, Bernice.
Mr. Mills is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy L. Mills; two children, Jerry B. Mills, Jr., of Dover and Teresa A. Byrd and her husband, Tyrone, of Gambrills, Md.; two brothers, Lee Robert Mills, of Spain and James Mills, of Franklin, N.C.; two sisters, Betty Williams, of Gastonia, N.C. and Reva Allen, of Greenville, N.C.; and four grandchildren, Chrissy MacDiarmid, Kurt Thompson, Scott Thompson and Savannah Mills.
A memorial service will be held 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934, where friends may visit with the family from 5 to 6 p.m. Burial will be private.
