Jean Kish

Houston - Jean "Duckie" Kish (Ware), formerly of Felton passed away on Monday, Aug. 6, 2018 in Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. She was born on July 30, 1937 to the late John T. and Elizabeth Vincent Ware of Felton.
She was a 1955 graduate of Felton High School and worked several years after graduation for Diamond State Telephone Company as an operator. In later years she worked for USDA ASCS in Sussex County and retired from USDA Federal Crop Insurance in 1999.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank S. Kish; her son, Steven M. Kish; her sisters, Jacqueline Hall, Mary Green, and Ruth Kemp; and her brothers, Albert Ware and Vincent Ware.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Breeding Walt and her son-in-law Jim Walt; two grandsons, Mitchell and Matthew Breeding; her sister, Margaret Ware and her brother-in-law Charlie; her sister-in-law, Anne Ware; and numerous nieces and nephews that loved their Aunt Duckie.
Duckie was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved spending as much time as she could with her family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and will always be remembered for her spunky personality. She loved watching Days of Our Lives and collecting coins, stamps, and other memorabilia in her spare time.
A memorial service will be held at Berry Short Funeral Home, Main Street, Felton, DE 19943 on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018 at 3 p.m. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to: Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or Christiana Care, Visiting Nurse Association (www.giving.christianacare.org).
