MILLINGTON, MD. - Thelma Jean Bostic died Fri., Mar. 20, 2015 at Compass Regional Hospice Center in Centreville. Jean was born Mar. 27, 1927, in Camden, N.J., the daughter of the late William and Elsie Naylor Marter. Jean was a 1945 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High in N.J. She married her late husband, Woodrow Stephen Bostic in 1946 and the two moved to Price, MD. Jean went to work at Bud Hubbard's restaurant as the lead waitress for about 25 years. She then went to work for both Washington College in the cafeteria as well as the Eastern Shore Pre-Release as a medical clerk. She retired from the Eastern Shore Pre Release in 2006. She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary Post 36 and she loved watching old movies, Jeopardy and Price Is Right, doing crossword puzzles and bowling in her younger years. She is survived by her daughter, Marty Freeman of Millington, MD; one grandson, Steve Freeman and wife Melissa of Sudlersville, MD; one brother, Richard Marter of RioGrande, N.J.; two grandchildren, Kylie and Patrick Freeman of Sudlersville, MD; one sister-in-law, Virginia Lane of Salisbury, MD; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Wed., Mar. 25, 2015 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will follow services in Sudlersville Cemetery in Sudlersville, MD.
