MILFORD - On Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, just before dawn, Jasmine P. Hines gained her wings and took her eternal flight home. Though Jasmine suffered long and endured much, she lived her life like it was golden. Jasmine was born in Milford, on Sunday, Aug. 27, 1989. Jazzie, as she was affectionately known, graduated from Delcastle Technical High School in 2007. Jazzie was an excellent student. She graduated with honors as a medical assistant. After high school she went on to study nursing at Delaware Technical and Community College. Jasmine was employed with Delaware Clinical Laboratories at Christiana Hospital until she became ill. Jazzie loved life. She lived every moment to the fullest. Jazzie loved her family and treasured her friends. Jazzie was best described as being fiercely determined, strong willed and ambitious. She was a devoted sister, a loving aunt, a sweet cousin and remained "Mommy's Baby." Jasmine strongly believed and practiced being true to herself. She will be greatly missed by all that came to know her. Jasmine leaves to cherish these and so many other memories: her mother, Rhoda Weston (Marvin Williams); father, Vernon Thomas; stepfather, Carlton Weston; brother, Vernon Hines; sister, Shevonne Hines (Fred Bartley); nephews, Kazmiere Bartley and Omillio Hines; niece, Emani Hines; paternal grandmother, Pearly Mae Thomas; best friends, Brandy Kozloski, and Brittany Hayes; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and associates. Funeral services will be noon, Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at Williams Chapel, 491 N. Cannon Street, Bridgeville. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Middleford. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook may be signed at www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are being handled by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
