MILFORD - Janice S. Collins of Milford passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law after a long illness. She was 81.

Mrs. Collins was born on Oct. 14, 1926, in Milford, daughter of the late Ebe Tunnell and Thelma E. (Johnson) Savage.

She graduated from Milford High School with the class of 1944.

Mrs. Collins retired in 1986 as an administrative assistant with the state of Delaware Department of Agriculture after 38 years of service.

After retiring, she did volunteer work for 10 years in the gift shop at Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by a brother, Pierce E. Savage.

She is survived by her best friend and husband of 62 years, George B. Collins, Jr.; a daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Donald L. Huey of Greenwood; two granddaughters and their husbands, Dawn Renee and Magnus Ohlsson of Raleigh, N.C. and Jennifer Michelle and Tim Hai of Baltimore; and two great-grandchildren, Christian Mattias Ohlsson and Amelie Linnea Ohlsson, both of Raleigh.

A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Milford Community Cemetery, N. Walnut Street, Milford.

Burial will follow the service.

Although Mrs. Collins loved flowers, it was her wish that memorial donations be made to charities of choice.

Arrangements handled by Rogers Funeral Home, Milford.
