James Stanley Jackson, 86

HOUSTON - James Stanley Jackson of Houston died Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, in his home. He was 86.

Mr. Jackson was born Aug. 22, 1920, in Morehead City, N.C., son of the late Phyllis and Eunice Jackson.

He attended school in North Carolina.

Mr. Jackson moved to Houston in 1956, where he worked for Libby McNeil for many years.

In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. His latest pastime was reading the Bible and completing word puzzles.

Mr. Jackson was a member of the John Wesley A.M.E. Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William Stanley Jackson Sr.; a granddaughter, Ida Jackson; and a grandson, Marcus Wright.

He is survived by his special friend, Nellie Cannon of Dover; six children, Burnice Lee Jackson of Glendale, Ariz., Pearlie Jackson of Washington, D.C., Ernest Jackson and his wife, Louanne, of Buffalo, N.Y., Darlene Wylie of Inglewood, Calif., Frankie Daniels and wife, Nichol, of Dover and Minnie Daniels of East New Market, Md.; a daughter-in-law, Eunice Jackson of Philadelphia; 16 grandchildren, Sonia Gibson, William Jackson Jr., Valencia Williams, Ernest Wright Jr., Nathan Wright, Eric Wright, Donna Randle, Toshawntra Jackson, John Jackson, Elizabeth Daniels, Jeffrey Daniels, Deadra Bivens, Tracey Hicks, Keisha Daniels, Monique Wylie and Monte Wylie; and a host of great-grandchildren, family and friends.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, where friends may call two hours earlier.

Burial will be in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
