James Lusby Sutton

STILL POND, Md. - James Lusby Sutton, 88 of Still Pond, Md., died Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 in University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore. Mr. Sutton was born on June 17, 1923 in Kennedyville, Md., son of the late John Carvel Sutton, Sr. and Elizabeth Lusby Sutton. He was a lifetime farmer, owning and operating Cedar Knoll Farm, a grain and dairy farm in Still Pond. Mr. Sutton was preceded in death by his son, James Lusby Sutton, Jr.; a granddaughter, Megan Sutton; a brother, John Carvel Sutton, Jr.; and two sisters, Frances Legg and Ann Jones. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marian Burris Sutton; three children, John 'Woody" Sutton and his wife Ann Marie of Still Pond, Dudley Sutton of Galena, and M. Lynn Sutton of Still Pond; three brothers, Edward P. Sutton of Chestertown, William Sutton of Galena, and Edgar Sutton of Chestertown; a sister, Mary Elma Sutton of Crumpton; two granddaughters, Jennifer S. Cole and her husband Joe, and Brooke L. Bennett; and one great-granddaughter, Delaney Cole. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012 in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, Md. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012 in Shrewsbury Parish Church, Kennedyville, Md. Burial in adjoining cemetery.
