James Henry Marshall Sr.

Marshall, Sr., 83 LEIPSIC, Del. - James Henry Marshall, Sr. passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013. Mr. Marshall was born on Aug. 7, 1929, the son of the late James and Estella Marshall. He worked for many years for Willis Chevrolet in Smyrna, and for Suburban Propane of Dover. James was a lifetime member of the Leipsic Volunteer Fire Company, where he served as former Chief, current President, and also Fire Police. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports on TV, and was also a fan of country music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; and five sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Julia; three sons, James Jr., of Smyrna, Charles of Aiken, S.C., and Harry of Leipsic; two daughters, Judy Clark of Bossier City, La., and Nancy Marshall of Magnolia; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his sister, Alice "Tootsie" Brown. A viewing for family and friends will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, in the Leipsic Volunteer Fire Hall, located at 318 Main Street, Leipsic. Funeral services will begin at noon. Burial will be held in Sharon Hills Memorial Park in Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Leipsic Volunteer Fire Co., 318 Main St., Leipsic, DE 19901.
