Jacqueline Roe Moore

DOVER - Jacqueline Roe Moore passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Bayhealth Medical Center, Dover, Del. Fondly known as Jackie, she was born on Dec. 25, 1940, and was the daughter of the late William G. Roe, Jr. and Eleanor King Roe. After graduating from high school in Smyrna, Jackie attended a year of college before returning home to marry her high school sweetheart, Robert L. Moore, Sr. on Nov. 25, 1961. In addition to being a farmers wife, she and her husband owned and operated Moore's Picking House, where they picked ducks and geese for over 35 years. Jackie worked for several years at Hercules in Wilmington, Del.before going to work at her mother's restaurant, The Village Inn, in Little Creek, Del. Upon retiring, she enjoyed staying home and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, and sons Robert L. Moore, Jr. and Keith Douglas Moore. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Amy Willis Moore, grandchildren Robert Douglas Moore and Kristen Elizabeth Moore, and great-grandson Cohen James Linden, all of Smyrna, Del.; her brother William Michael Roe, of Morriston, Fla., brother-in-law, Presley E. Moore, Jr. and wife Beronica of Smyrna; sister-in-law, Patsy Stachecki and husband Raymond of Smyrna; several nieces and nephews, extended family, dear friends, and her dog Tobias. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 in Faries Funeral Home, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, followed by a service celebrating her life at 12 noon. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna. In an effort to assist the family, as they have been through so much, in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the funeral home.
