Hugh E. Braun

Hugh E. Braun, 72 MILLSBORO - Hugh E. Braun, age 72, of Millsboro, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2010, at the Beebe Medical Center. Born on April 8, 1938, in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the son of the late Francis Willis and Bernadine Anastasia (Hadfield) Braun. Mr. Braun was the former owner of Groff's Auto Service in Trooper, Pa., where he spent his career as an auto mechanic. Mr. Braun was also a mentor to troubled teens helping them to acquire a trade. He enjoyed pursuing his many hobbies of boating, fishing and restoring antique cars, but his greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Francis and two sisters, Wilma and Martha. Mr. Braun is survived by his five children, Suzanne Harrison and husband Clay of York, Pa., John Braun of Millsboro, Daniel Braun and wife Christina, and Willard Braun and wife Marry, all of Boyertown, Pa., and Hugh Braun, Jr. and wife Audrey of Collegeville, Pa.; daughter-in-law, Melissa Wells of Birdsboro, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Kyle, Tyler, Marissa, Lamont, Daniel, Morgan and Emily; Curt Slavin and David Seacrist who were like sons to him; two brothers, Joseph Braun and his wife Rita and Herman Braun and his wife Rosalie; and many nieces and nephews. All services will be private as Mr. Braun has requested. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Lewes. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 163, Salisbury, MD 21803-0163.
