Howard E. Tibbitt

GREENWOOD - Howard E. Tibbitt, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Milford Memorial Hospital. Howard was born on June 17, 1933, in Felton, to the late Oliver and Nora Stubbs Tibbitt. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Howard graduated from Greensboro High School class of "52", where he excelled in sports. Even during his adult life he was a sports enthusiast, and he encouraged his children in sports as well. He enjoyed fishing, harness racing, and bowling, but his love was baseball. His favorite baseball team was the Detroit Tigers, he also liked the Atlanta Braves. Howard was also an animal lover and he had many canine friends in his family over the years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Robert. He is survived by five children, Peggy Butler and her spouse Bob of Harrington, Larry Tibbitt and spouse Brenda of Lincoln, Ronnie Tibbitt of Harrington, Debbie Stewart and her spouse Terry of Harrington, and Kenny Tibbitt of Harrington; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Emma Marie Morris of Milford; a special friend who was like a son to him, Martin Janatach of Greenwood; and his loyal companion 'Thor'. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on June 15, 2012, at Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 W. Market Street, Greenwood. Friends may call two hour prior to funeral. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to your SPCA.
