Hilda M. Blackiston

SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - Hilda M. Blackiston, 91, of Sudlersville, died April 30, 2011, in Hospice Home of Queen Anne's, Centreville. Mrs. Blackiston was born on Nov. 18, 1919, daughter of the late Berle and Ruth Younger Burris. She was a graduate of Sudlersville High School Class of 1937. A life time resident of Queen Anne's County where she raised her family. Her memberships include Double Creek United Methodist Church and their Ladies Aid, a Charter member of Sudlersville VFC Auxiliary, the Top of the Hill Seniors, and the Homemaker & Betterment Clubs of Sudlersville. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Norman Franklin Blackiston in 1984. Mrs. Blackiston is survived by her children, Joanna Boudreaux and her husband Kenneth of Houston, Texas, and Charles Blackiston and his wife Phyllis of Millsboro, Del.; a sister, Mildred Casey of Crumpton; two grandchildren, Jennifer Stidham, and Steven Boudreaux; and twin great-granddaughters, Hannah and Sydney Boudreaux. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 4, in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, where funeral will be held on Thursday, May 5 at 11 a.m. Burial in Crumpton Cemetery.
