Herman Alvin 'Bud' Trego Jr., 59
ROCK HALL, Md. - Herman Alvin "Bud" Trego Jr., of Rock Hall, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at his home. He was 59.
Born on High Street in Chestertown during a blizzard on Dec. 26, 1948, he was the son of the late Herman A. Sr. and Florence M. (Coleman) Trego.
Bud attended school in Rock Hall and was drafted to the U.S. Army to serve during Vietnam stateside in data processing.
Following an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, he lived in Pennsylvania until 1981, when he moved back home to Rock Hall.
In September 1982, he married Melanie Jacquette, and they resided in Rock Hall.
Bud worked as director of data processing with Chesapeake College, and then took a position as IT administrator with Aspen Institute, where he worked until December 2007. He also worked on weekends with the Rock Hall Marine Railway.
Bud was a member of Sgt. Preston Ashley American Legion Post 228, acting commander of the Sons of the American Legion, a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, and past president of Rock Hall Fire Co.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, antiques and old time country music. He loved being with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife of 25 years, Bud is survived by three brothers, Charles Trego and wife Jen of Columbus, Ohio, J.R. Trego and wife Donna of Rock Hall and Moody Trego of Rock Hall; two sisters, Jo Ellen Wyer and her husband Robin of Columbus and Eden Mcgourty and her husband Francis of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, where friends may call one hour prior.
Relatives and friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, Rock Hall.
Interment will be private.
