EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) — The new Ryan Field has made its long-awaited debut with a light show, fireworks and a dominant performance by Northwestern in a 34-13 win over Penn State. The party included a stadium-wide rendition of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” ahead of the fourth quarter, led by Northwestern’s national champion women’s lacrosse team. The Wildcats rolled to 413 yards rushing before punctuating the victory with high-fives with the student section on their way off the field. The $875 million stadium was built on the same site as the former Ryan Field. The first game was played on the 100th anniversary of the opening of the original Northwestern Stadium.

UNDATED (AP) — No. 14 Iowa heads home to follow up its dramatic victory at Michigan by upsetting No. 5 Ohio State in the most attractive game on this week's Big Ten schedule. Iowa edged Michigan 20-19 with a touchdown on the game’s final play. The Hawkeyes are seeking to beat Michigan and Ohio State in the same season for just the second time ever. Another interesting Big Ten game has Northwestern opening its new $850 million, 35,000-seat stadium with a Friday night matchup against Penn State.
