VIOLA - Herbert L. Bolles Sr., of Viola, died Friday evening, May 15, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 79. He was born in Bradford, Pa., to the late Herbert O. and Ruth E. Bolles. Mr. Bolles is a Veterans of the Navy Sea Bees during WWII, He worked in construction as a maintenance operator. He worked at the DE AG Museum, Modern Maturity and also at Westminster Village. Mr. Bolles is a member of AA with 37 years of sobriety and in his retirement years he enjoyed helping seniors with his many talents. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas E. Bolles; and one sister, Betty M. Grisham of Bradford, Pa. He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Marjorie; eight children, Tom Craig and wife Amy, Bonnie Lee Beaulieu, Penny Hasson and husband Willard, Rose Imhoff and husband Jesse, Kathie Bolles, Val Bolles, Ryan Bolles, Frank Bolles and wife Maryann; three stepchildren, Debbie Baker and husband Jonathan, Brian Schuman and Chris Schuman; 18 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday May 19, in Crossroads Community Church, Bridgeville, where visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the DE Veteran's Cemetery, Bear. Officiating will be Rev. Rick Betts. Arrangements are by the Melvin Funeral Home, Harrington.
