DOVER - Henry Alphonse Mitchler, Jr. "Mitch" passed away Sunday morning, October 31, 2021 at his home in Dover, Del. Henry was born in Washington D.C. on March 23, 1937.
He lived a full life. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he loyally served for 4 years. Soon after he left the Navy he met the love of his life Manene. After a short courtship he knew he found the one. They were blessed with 62 years of matrimony. He was self employed and started his own business realizing 40 years of success. Henry loved people and telling stories of his time in the service. He enjoyed history and liked making cheese cakes. Mitch was always willing to to lend a hand, he was an active member of in the Del RCC.
He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Mitchler; and granddaughter, Amanda. Henry is survived by his wife, Manene; a son, Richard; extended family and thousands of friends.
His smile, voice, love and compassionate views on life will live on forever in our hearts and minds.
Memorial Service with Military Honors, Saturday, November 20, 2021, 11 a.m. at Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming, Del.; where friends may gather beginning at 10 a.m.
