Laurens, SC - Helen Green Walls Richardson, of 1 Martha Franks Drive, and formerly of Church Hill, Maryland, widow of Thomas Gordon Walls, Sr, and Robert H. Richardson passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community. Born in Burrisville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Elijah B. Green, Jr. and Cora Cox Green. She was a member of Greenpond United Methodist Church and retired from International Playtex Inc. Surviving are a son, Thomas G. Walls, Jr. and wife, Diana, of Las Vegas, Nev.; and a daughter, Helen W. Smith (Penny), and husband, Jack, of Laurens, S.C.; a grandchild, Stephanie B. Wykel and husband, Joseph, of Duncan, S.C.; and three great-grandchildren, Baylee, Ben, and Brady. In addition to her husbands and her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Burton Green; and three sisters, Frances Shipley, Isabel Godwin, and Cora May Gallion. Funeral services will be held in Laurens, S.C. at 2 p.m., Monday, July 16, 2012, at Martha Franks Rasor Chapel conducted by Rev. Steven Keck, with visitation following the service. Additional services will be held in Maryland. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newman Funeral Home in Centreville. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Church Hill United Methodist Church with burial in the Church Hill Cemetery following the services. The family will receive friends and family at the Price Community Center after the burial. Memorials may be made to Laurens County Food Ministry, c/o Greenpond UMC, 168 Stoddard Mill Road, Gray Court, SC 29645 or to Church Hill Volunteer Fire Company, 316 Main Street, Church Hill, MD 21623.
