MAGNOLIA - Harry E. "Neuty" Reed passed away Friday, Apr. 21, 2017, at Kent General Hospital. He was born on Oct. 3, 1929, son of James K. and Cora Reed. Neuty graduated from Caesar Rodney High School and was the last surviving male member of the class of 1947.
He started working at Sears and Roebuck out of high school, then he and his father formed Reed's Delivery Service.
Neuty was a member of the Del-Vets, former member of the Camden Wyoming Lions Club and a life-time member of the Magnolia Fire Company for 67 years. He was a member of the Delaware National Guard for ten years.
He is survived by his loving family: wife, Janet of 64 and ½ years; daughters, Patti Baker (Mike), Suzanne Thomas (ML); two granddaughters, Amanda Brown (Adam), Courtney Baker (Brendan); and his first great grandson, due in July who will be named for him. He is also survived by a brother, Ronald Reed (Gail); sister-in-law, Katherine Shumar; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday, Apr. 25, 2017, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., funeral to follow at 12 p.m. Burial will be at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to Magnolia Methodist Church, 39 Main St., Magnolia, DE 19962 or Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, 2 N. Main St., Magnolia, DE 19962.
