Harriet Ann Beaven, 88

EASTON, Md. - Harriet Ann Beaven of Easton died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, in Memorial Hospital, Easton. She was 88.

Mrs. Beaven was born in Tuckahoe Neck of Caroline County, daughter of the late Edward Cooper and Ella Lowe Anthony Wright. She lived in Caroline and Talbot counties all of her life.

She and her husband owned and operated Beaver Neck Farm, near Easton, all of their married life. In 1997, she and Mr. Beaven received the Century Award from Maryland for 100 years of farming in the Beaven family.

She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Denton, serving on the altar guild for more than 30 years.

Mrs. Beaven was a member of the Talbot County Farm Bureau.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Philip H. Beaven, on Feb. 6, 2006; four sisters, Pearl Smith, Edna Coursey, Pauline Wright and Mabel Sharp; and four brothers, Laurence Wright, Ormond Wright, Frederick Wright and Edward Wright.

She is survived by a son, William N. Beaven of Easton; a daughter, Phyllis B. Pensel of Easton; three grandchildren, Kristin Lahman, Andrew Beaven and his wife, Kristi, and Mark Beaven and his wife, Heather; and six great-grandchildren, Dylan Lahman, Lauren Lahman, Evan Lahman, Emma Beaven, Benjamin Beaven and William Beaven.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Christ Episcopal Church, Denton.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Moore Funeral Home, 12 S. Second St., Denton.

Burial will be in St. Paul's Episcopal Church Cemetery, Hillsboro.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Beaven, Mark Beaven, Dylan Lahman, James McKeon III, Paul Willis III and Jeffrey Willis.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Christ Episcopal Church, 105 Gay St., Denton, MD 21629.
